Lean On Me

When I started thinking about writing this blog, the song “Lean on Me” by Bill Withers came to mind as it perfectly portrays the message I wish to get across. These lyrics came flooding into my mind…

“Lean on me. When you’re not strong, and I’ll be your friend, I’ll help you carry on. For it won’t be long till I'm gonna need somebody to lean on. Please swallow your pride if I have things you need to borrow, for no one can fill those of your needs that you won’t let show. You just call on my brother when you need a hand. We all need somebody to lean on.”

I have heard this song many times, but when I truly listen to the lyrics, I realize how true they are. These words are impactful, we need to hear and believe them.

If you have ever gone through a rough situation, how often did you hear someone say, “call if you need anything” or “how can I help you?” I have noticed that the person who needs help rarely reaches out to those who have offered. (I know because I have been the person to refuse help before). There are many reasons why people ignore these kind gestures; they might be too embarrassed to ask, or they just don’t want to bother others. Yet in reality, life struggles are meant to be shared.

We are built to lean on others and share our burdens! You aren’t alone in your struggles, every human faces tribulation, and it is nice to know that there are people out there to help. Don’t be afraid to reach out, because the time will soon come when you can be the one offering a helping hand.

As prices for just about everything are increasing right now, it's no secret that many are struggling to get items that are necessary for living. So, for example, if you are a single parent, a young couple with children, or just a family in need of resources for your children, you have a friend waiting to help you!!!

Many people may not be aware, but Pregnancy Resource Centers (PRCs) are located in and around the Cincinnati area. (And before you ask, no, you do not have to be pregnant to be able to receive services there.) They can help with baby and toddler supplies that may be hard for you to obtain right now.

These PRCs provide diapers, wipes, clothing, formula, shoes, and other essential supplies needed for your children, all for FREE! Yes, that’s right, for free! We all need help at one point or another, and there are friends willing to help. The Bluebird steps in to connect you to specific organizations that were created to lend a helping hand.

The Bluebird is in partnership with many resources around the Clermont and Brown County areas to reach those in need. We are also specifically partnered with multiple PRCs; if you need supplies for your children, we want to help! So please do not ignore our offer. We genuinely are here to walk alongside you when you feel there is nowhere else to turn. Turn to us! :)
